I hear the heater running, but we have no heat.

May 13, 2018 Texas Discount Air

What is happening when you hear your heater running but there is no heat coming from your vents? This is a common problem. A customer will say, “I hear the furnace in the attic. It sounds like it’s trying to come on, but it just never does.” When this happens, it’s usually because the system is going through some of its shutdowns and delays.

The following problems can cause shutdowns or delays:

  • problems with the gas valve
  • heat limit switches
  • too much carbon monoxide in the flue gas
  • bad combustion.

While these are the more serious problems that might occur with your heater in the winter time, they are still repairable. Don’t always think that ‘serious’ means ‘expensive.’ We service Keller, North Richland Hills, Southlake, north Fort Worth, Saginaw, and most of the surrounding areas.

We will find your problem and then let you know the price to fix it. We always encourage you to choose the option that is best for you. While there are generally standard industry prices on heater repairs, we have a caveat: We are Discounted!!

Our $29 charge includes both the service call fee AND the diagnostic fee. Mention the coupon below the service charge is waived when you do the repair.

Check Airflow

If your ac system is doing the same thing – running but you have no cool air, check to see if your ac system has frozen up. Like with your air conditioning system, the heater needs airflow to function properly. Check your filter to make sure you have good airflow. If you can’t see light easily through the filter, it likely needs to be changed.
