Types of AC and Heating Systems

If you live in a single family home in the Fort Worth area, you probably have what’s called a ‘Split System’. This means the system is split between two places and is not sitting together as one big piece of metal. You have an AC Condenser outside on the side of your house or backyard and another piece (or two) in the attic or appliance closet.

Explained:

1)            If you are using Natural Gas for fuel then you most likely have a 3 piece Split System. This will consist of the AC Condenser outside, the Evaporator coil in the attic or appliance closet and the furnace (heater).

2)            If you are an electric only house, that means you have a 2 piece system. This will consist of the AC Condenser outside and the Air Handler in the attic or appliance closet. The Air Handler is actually an all-in-one system. It has the Evaporator coil and heating in one big rectangular appliance.

These are the two configurations in the Fort Worth, Keller, Southlake, Haltom City, Watauga, Roanoke, Saginaw, North Richland Hills, Hurst, Euless, Bedford, DfW and Mid-Cities areas, which are also some of the areas of Texas we service!
